Anne Hathaway Les Mis, Anne Hathaway to star in Les Mis. Los Angeles, Variety magazine has reportedly that One Day star Anne Hathaway has been selected to join the cast for the movie Les Misérables. The French-setting movie is an adaption of Victor Hugo’s musical which has the same title.
This is the first time that a movie adaptation of the musical is being made though it has been at the Broadway since 1985. The report said Hathaway will be playing the role of the lead character in the movie. The movie will be directed by Oscar winner Tom Hooper. The project will be the next major one for Hooper after the highly successful 2010 movie The Kings Speech. The Telegraph reports that the movie will be produced by the British production house Working Title and Cameron Mackintosh who is the original producer of the musical.
Hathaway is currently involved in the project “The Dark Night Rises.” Filming for the movie is ongoing with Hathaway playing the role of the Catwoman in the movie. She is fast turning out to be one of the most sought after actresses in Hollywood. She was the co-host of the Oscars earlier in the year.
Les Misérables is scheduled to be released in the later part of next year.
