Bill Oreilly Killing Lincoln Inaccurate

Bill Oreilly Killing Lincoln Inaccurate, Ford's Theater Bans Bill O'Reilly's Lincoln Book for Gross Factual Errors. Fox News blowhard Bill O'Reilly's latest book, "Killing Lincoln," has been judged so factually inaccurate by a reviewer that Ford's Theater is refusing to allow it to be sold there.

Most people won't be shocked to see O'Reilly's name and "factually inaccurate" in the same sentence. After all he makes a career out of arrogantly twisting the truth on national television, so hoping he'd be any different in print is pretty naive.
So how badly did Bill O'Reilly mess up his history? A reviewer for Ford's Theater found the book to be "sloppy with the facts and slim in documentation." Translation? O'Reilly didn't do his research (surprise surprise) and offered no proof of any of his claims. So basically "Killing Lincoln" is his show in book version.

In one section of the book O'Reilly claims Lincoln took meetings in the Oval Office of the White House, which wouldn't even come into existence until nearly 50 years after his death. Another ominously declares that Generals Lee and Grant would "never meet again," though in fact it is well known that they did.

Bill O'Reilly and his ilk love to show off when it comes to how much they love their country by writing (or co-writing in this case--Bill couldn't even be bothered to put the book together himself) grand volumes on our greatest presidents. But an ignorant patriot is no patriot at all--maybe next time Bill decides to write a book he'll try reading one first, if only to avoid embarrassing himself.
