Meg Ryan 50, Meg Ryan turns 50; The queen of the romantic comedy has still got it. It seems like just yesterday a fresh-faced actress was having the time of her life with a sandwich in "When Harry Met Sally." But how time flies as Meg Ryan turns 50 on Saturday (Nov. 19).
The actress, who had smaller parts in such films as "Top Gun" and "Amityville 3-D," broke through as Sally Albright in the 1989 comedy "When Harry Met Sally." This role earned her a Golden Globe nomination and catapulted her to A-list standing. After that, Ryan starred in a bunch of romantic comedies including "Sleepless in Seattle," "French Kiss" and "You've Got Mail."
While Ryan has had so much box office success, she's picked a couple clunkers too. Ryan was nominated for a Worst Actress Razzie for her work in the 2008 film "The Women."
On the personal side, Ryan has recently been linked to rocker John Mellencamp. She was previously married to Dennis Quaid, but the couple divorced in 2001 after 10 years of marriage.
