Amanda Knox Book Agent
Amanda Knox strikes a deal with President Obama's book agent just as her ex-lover announces he will pen his own tell-all book too
Amanda Knox is going to be telling her side of the story very soon, as news broke that she has inked a book deal.New reports say that the 24-year-old who was cleared of the murder of her British roommate Meredith Kercher has partnered up with the politically powerful literary agent who helped make President Barack Obama a bestseller.
Knox is not the only one that will be profiting from the story of the death of her ex-roommate. Her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito has also ironed out the details of a book deal.
TMZ reported Monday that Knox has signed on with a literary agents, a sure sign that her inevitable tell-all book is in the works. That comes the same day that Sollecito's literary agent confirmed that he already had book deal.
Many expected Knox to float some kind of deal to sell her story after she was exonerated on October 3 of Miss Kercher's murder in Perugia, Italy.
The surprising part of the news is that she was able to secure the legal representation of Bob Barnett, a D.C. lawyer and literary agent who is very close with serious political players.
Mr Barnett was the literary agent for President Barack Obama when he wrote Dreams From My Father in 1995.
He has also worked closely with former President Bill Clinton, and reportedly was the one to tell Hillary Clinton about her husbands notorious affair with then-intern Monica Lewinsky.
Amanda is well prepped to start the writing process as she has said that she spent much of her time keeping journals while she spent over four years in an Italian jail. Her father said that they needed to bring and entire extra suitcase back to the U.S. when Amanda was freed because she filled it with all of the journals that she had kept.
