Kim Kardashian plumbs new depths as she opens a toilet facility in Times Square

Some might say she'd turn up to the opening of an envelope, but Kim Kardashian took her penchant for pay cheques and self-promotion to a new extreme today.

The reality TV star showed up in New York's Times Square to cut the ribbon on a new toilet facility.

While it may not have been her most glamorous endorsement, she was still dressed to impress in a form-fitting grey tweed dress and black high heels.

This is the fifth year toilet paper brand Charmin have opened a special services to serve the extra Christmas shoppers in the city.

The 30-year-old also posed happily between two fluffy mascots before pretending to open the door to the bathroom with a giant plastic key.

It has been a week mixed with both business and pleasure for Kim.

Just days ago she was spotted chatting with Halle Berry's model ex, Gabriel Aubry, while watching an LA Lakers basketball game.

They were also joined by Kim's ever-present mother, Kris Jenner.

Kris has admitted she is keen for her daughter to settle down, recently saying: 'It's time, let's nail it down. I plan a great wedding.'

As for Kim's latest male companion, a source told usmagazine.com: 'They met through friends and have been dating a few weeks. They decided to step out together at the game.'

Gabriel, 34, has kept a low profile since he and Halle, 43, ended their four-year relationship in April.

Kim's friend Jonathan Cheban is certainly thrilled about her latest dalliance: 'I can't wait to hear all about it. I hope they're together so I don't have to go to football games anymore!'
