Katie Holmes' Dad Helped Plan Tom Cruise Split, Katie Holmes’ lawyer father Martin had reportedly flown from Ohio to New York to help orchestrate her divorce proceedings from Tom Cruise.

He, along with her mum Kathleen, were said to be increasingly worried for Holmes, and are said to be “thrilled” that they have “got their Katie back,” after years of influence from Scientology.

“Katie’s father is very involved in the divorce proceedings and working closely with Katie’s lawyer,” the Mirror quoted a source as saying.

“Her father has been her rock in the last several months and she just doesn’t know where she would be without him,” the source said.

A former Scientologist has also revealed that an insider was passing information to Holmes’ concerned family about the group’s activities on a regular basis.

Last week, Holmes filed for divorce after five years of marriage while the ‘Top Gun’ star was away filming.


Insiders revealed that the pair had endured a series of explosive rows ahead of the split – including one where Cruise criticised the way his wife was raising Suri.

According to sources, Cruise was angry that Suri had been allowed to wear lipstick and nail polish at such a young age.

But Holmes hit back by saying the star – who rakes in an estimated 60 million pounds-a-year – failed to spend enough time with his family.

Holmes has also reportedly fired her old security team, fearing they were too close to the actor.

The group – made up of a bodyguard and a driver – worked for Cruise for years before he married Holmes, and were assigned to her full time after they met.
