Seinfeld to replace philbin, Jerry Seinfeld set to replace Regis Philbin on ‘Live with Regis & Kelly’ – VIDEOS, Comedy icon will be the first to replace Philbin after 28 years on the show. Jerry Seinfeld will take on the role of guest co-host on “Live with Regis & Kelly” for three days from November 21st to 23rd. Seinfeld is filling big shoes as Regis Philbin the veteran presenter retires.
The show’s producers made the announcement as 80-year-old Philbin steps down. Philbin has been the host of the show for 28 years. He was joined on the show by Kelly Ripa in 2001. She replaced his former long-time co-host Kathie Lee Gifford.
Executive producer Michael Gelman told Reuters “Jerry is a great friend of ours, and a friend of Kelly's, and it doesn't hurt that he's an entertainment icon," "LIVE!"
"It's a great way to kick off the new beginning of our show, which will be called "LIVE! with Kelly."
The planned guest for the show will include “Sex in the City’s” Kim Cattrall, Howie Mandel, Jason Segal, star chef Jamie Oliver and Muppet Miss Piggy.
