The 47-year-old victim, Maria Tripp was crossing a busy intersection in Brooklyn when she was hit, the New York Daily News reports.
She was pronounced dead at Interfaith Hospital.

Tripp, who lived only four blocks from the scene, was walking with her 12-year-old daughter, 19-year-old nephew and her boyfriend at the time of the accident.
'She was a loving and caring mother,' said relative Don Wingate, 60, a retired police sergeant.
'It’s a very tragic situation, it’s been very traumatic. The kids are going through a lot of pain.'
A law enforcement source said the agent had a green light.
