Massive Valley Beneath Antarctica - British researchers say they've found a gigantic rift valley beneath Antarctica's ice sheet that's even deeper than the Grand Canyon.
But scientists say if the ice melted away, you'd see a huge scar in the earth dropping a mile below the surrounding surface.
Researchers found it with ice-penetrating radar.
This discovery reveals some bad news -- the valley brings in warmer ocean water which is melting the ice cap.
The work of the researchers was reported this week in the journal "Nature".
