Beatles Record Broken: Emeli Sandé breaks Beatles record for Top 10 debut, A 50-year-old record held by the Beatles has been broken by a young Scottish singer.
Emeli Sandé now holds the record for the debut album with the most weeks in the British Top 10.
Her album, Our Version of Events, has now spent 63 weeks among the top of the charts, overtaking the Fab Four's 1963 album Please Please Me.
Our Version of Events won British album of the year at this year's Brit Awards, while Sandé was also named best British female solo artist.
This record is so significant to me for many different reasons. I'm so happy and I'm thankful to you all. We made history!!
