T-Mobile $99 iPhone, At long last, all four major U.S. wireless carriers now have the iPhone. Starting today, T-Mobile is selling Apple's latest smartphone with no annual contract for $99 down.
The offer is part of T-Mobile's new "un-carrier" approach, which frees users from annual contracts. Monthly wireless plans start at $50 for unlimited talk and text and 500MB of data; add $10 per month for an additional 2GB of data.
The plan, however, also ditches subsidized phone prices, so while you're paying $99 down for the 16GB iPhone 5, it also comes with monthly payments of $20 for 24 months (or $579.99 total). The 32GB is $199 down, while the 64GB is $299 down.

If you have an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S to trade in, though, T-Mobile is running a promotion whereby you can get the iPhone 5 for $0 down until June 16.
For those who want the iPhone 4 or 4S, meanwhile, the older smartphones will be on sale via T-Mobile in select markets. The iPhone 4S is available for $69.99 down and $20 per month for two years ($549.99), while the iPhone 4 is on sale for $14.99 down and $15 per month for 24 months ($374.99).
As TechCrunch noted, there are several reports on Twitter of lines at various T-Mobile stores around the country today, though nothing like one might expect at an Apple Store on "new iPhone" launch day.
T-Mobile, meanwhile, gets the iPhone six years after the original Apple smartphone made its debut exclusively on AT&T. Verizon finally nabbed the iPhone in Feb. 2011, while Sprint joined the party later that year with the iPhone 4S. A number of regional U.S. carriers also offer the iPhone.
