With a wedding in full swing and guests at the ready, disaster was imminent until a guest stepped in to save the day after the groom failed to show up.
The 23-year-old bride known as Ponradha, from Lakshmimanagaram in India's Kanyakumari district, was due to marry her 35-year-old groom, Sithiraivelu, last Wednesday.
The wedding was ready to go, but unfortunately the groom-to-be wasn't.
Unbeknown to her, he'd had an argument with his parents and failed to return home, The Times of India reported.
News of the disaster soon spread across the town with family left fearful for the bride's future.
Luckily for her, a relative who had come to take part in the wedding agreed to step in and marry her.
