'I hadn't weighed myself for many, many years. Then just before Christmas, I got on the scales and it said 19st 6lb,' says Pauline, 51. 'I was so shocked. I knew exactly what I wanted to get to - 11st.
'As of last week, I was 13st.'
The actress, who blames her unhealthy diet after joining Emmerdale for her weight gain, insists she'd never considered liposuction or gastric bands as a quick fix.
'I won't put myself through any surgical procedure if there's an alternative,' she tells Woman magazine.
