Cate Edwards to wed, Cate Edwards getting married Saturday in Chapel Hill. Cate Edwards, the daughter of John and Elizabeth Edwards, is getting married in Chapel Hill Saturday, according to The New York Times.Edwards will marry Dr. Trevor Upham and celebrate at the family home outside of Chapel Hill.
The Times reports that about 150 people have been invited to the ceremony.
The two met when they were students at Princeton University in 2002. They later broke up for two years before getting back together.
"We wanted to see what else was out there, and nothing else was — nothing else as good as what we have," Edwards told Harper’s Bazaar in 2007. "It's really nice to have someone who was there before all this began. You can really trust they're there for the right reasons." Edwards has been a staunch supporter of her father, who faces criminal charges over the use of campaign funds from his presidential bid.
