Jennifer Lawrence stalker

Jennifer Lawrence stalker, A Canadian man has been charged with stalking and harassing Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence and her family.

Chinese-born Han Cong Zhao, 23, a former student from Vancouver, allegedly contacted the brother of the 22-year-old Hunger Games star more than 200 times from Canada, USA Today reports.

Zhao then flew to Louisville in the US on April 18 and allegedly left a threatening voicemail on her brother’s phone.

"I find you or you come to me," the voicemail allegedly said.

"You got me really upset, when I am upset, wait and see what happens."

On the same day, Zhao also asked the Indian Hills police how he could contact Lawrence's parents, court documents said.

He was subsequently admitted to Central State Hospital, a psychiatric facility in Louisville, for three weeks and was released on May 8.

He was charged with stalking and harassing but it is alleged he continued to try to contact Lawrence and her family.

Zhao gave Indian Hills Police Chief Kelly Spratt two letters for the actress, who he called "Mary" - referencing biblical Mary, USA Today reported.

He also made a biblical reference to the star on his Facebook page on April 11, after she tumbled on the stairs as she went up on stage to collect her award for Best Actress for her performance in Silver Linings Playbook.

"Well didn't J-Law fall down and bow before God's presence and highness this year at the Oscars," he wrote.

"I am sure y'all seen the movie Silver Linings Playbook. There's a silver linings (sic) in every cloud. Trust me."

Zhao has pleaded not guilty to stalking and harassment and is being held on $100,000 bail.

His trial is set for July 23.
