Secret NFL Child Abuse Arrest: Michael Boley reached plea deal on child abuse charge

Secret NFL Child Abuse Arrest: Michael Boley reached plea deal on child abuse charge -  The New York Giants cut Michael Boley in early February and TMZ reports the move came just three days before the veteran linebacker was arrested for child abuse.

According to the report, Boley ws under investigation in Alabama for a 2011 incident involving his son, who was 5 at the time. The case was scheduled to go before a grand jury but before that happened Boley reached a plea agreement with prosecutors. TMZ reports the court in Etowah County, Ala., say Boley was allowed to enter a pre-trial diversion program and the charge will be dropped upon successful completion of the program.

The Giants released Boley Feb. 5 and it is worth wondering if they knew legal problems were unavoidable for the starter on the team’s last Super Bowl team. Boley remains a free agent. TMZ also reports the abuse was not sexual in nature but was physical.
