Gaddafi Cartoons in Libya
Like most dictators, Gaddafi has carefully monitored the use of his image, often describing himself as a deity or a beloved leader. In rebel-controlled areas, ridicule was the main weapon in the fight against climate of fear that has long engulfed the country. Caricature and graffiti with pictures Gaddafi appeared in various cities, such as Benghazi, portraying him in bad light. Reuters news agency photographer Finbarr O'Reilly captures graffiti and cartoons to protest against the regime of Qadhafi on the streets of the city of Benghazi.
