Lady Gaga fans overwhelm Amazon servers
Lady Gaga fans overwhelm Amazon servers. Did you download your copy of Lady Gaga's new album from Amazon MP3 today? Count yourself lucky. The rock-bottom price of 99 cents has attracted Little Monsters far and wide, overloading Amazon's servers.

"We're currently experiencing very high volume. If you order today, you will get the full @ladygaga album for $.99. Thanks for your patience," Amazon tweeted early this afternoon.

At this point, the album, "Born This Way," is downloading, but very slowly. PCMag started downloading it from Amazon MP3 around 2:45pm Eastern, and by 3:30pm, one song had been downloaded and the rest were hanging at 0 percent.

Lady Gaga's album made its debut at midnight, and Gaga herself promoted the iTunes release on her Twitter feed. It appears that some people are bypassing cheap prices in favor of getting their hands on the album as fast as possible. Gaga's album is now number one on iTunes, where the deluxe version is available for $15.99 and the regular version is selling for $11.99.

Prior to the release, Gaga was on Twitter sharing tidbits about the album and its songs ("I wrote HAIR about how my parents used to get pissed at my outfits and my hair when I was a kid"). She was recently the first person to reach 10 million followers on Twitter.

Over the weekend, Gaga was the musical guest on "Saturday Night Live," but the show also featured the debut of her new commercial (below) for Google. "Makes me choke up, cause i think about us monsters + how far we've come," she tweeted on Sunday.

The spot features Gaga singing her latest single, "The Edge of Glory," on the Brooklyn Bridge with YouTube videos of her fans singing along spliced in. It also shows Gaga using the Web (Google in particular, of course) to connect with fans. "Lady Gaga. Monster Monster. The Web is what you make it," reads the tagline.

Those who want to see Gaga in person can head to the Union Square Best Buy for an album signing tonight. Might want to hurry; fans are already lined up around the block.
