A new 'Bachelorette' set to begin
A new 'Bachelorette' set to begin. Who will be ABC's next Bachelorette? Not Emily Maynard . .According to blogger Reality Steve, filming for the new season of The Bachelorette is set to begin in 3 weeks. Although male contestants for the show have been interviewed and the pool is narrowed down, ABC is still in talks with the female who will star in the Bachelorette.
A fan favorite from the current Bachelor with Brad Womack, single mother Emily Maynard was a solid choice for the role. "I can report today that absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, that Emily will not be the next Bachelorette," Reality Steve blogged on Wednesday, February 23. The reason she won't be the star of the new series is unknown.
Now that the obvious choice is off the table, it's a guessing game to try and predict who ABC will cast as its next leading lady. Past bachelorettes have been strong, energetic women who are decisive or who have an interesting backstory, almost always having appeared as a contest on the show before.
Some fans are hoping that crazy Michelle Money will be the new Bachelorette, while others hope Ashley Hebert (Brad's first solo date this season), Ashley Spivey (who got Brad's first impression rose) or Shawntel Newton (Brad's final-four contestant) will get to star in the new show.
Gia Allemand and Vienna Girardi (both from Jake Pavelka's season) are other names that fans have thrown into the giant pool of speculation. The names of female celebrities have also been tossed around the blogosphere from time to time, like Kate Gosselin or Jennifer Aniston.
Since Brad Womack got his second chance as the Bachelor, there may also be hope for Jillian Harris to return to the Bachelorette to find a love match that works, after breaking it off with Ed Swiderski.
Who would you most like to see as the next Bachelorette? Who should ABC pass on?
