A court in the central town of Skovde found 32-year-old Isakin Jonsson guilty yesterday *of murdering his 40-year-old girlfriend.
According to prosecutors, Jonsson and his girlfriend went shopping on the day of the murder before returning to their apartment. While his girlfriend was sleeping, Jonsson cut up the mattress with a knife and then slit her throat.
"I remember how I slit her throat. Then I went to the kitchen and started cooking," Jonsson told the court.
Prosecutors said Jonsson cut off her head using a knife, a saw and scissors. A psychiatric examination found that Jonsson suffered from a severe mental illness, and he was sentenced to psychiatric care.
Jonsson showed no remorse in court and offered no motive, Expressen reported.
"There was no motive whatsoever. We were a couple with a future together. I've never felt this way with a girl before," he said.
