Catherine Zeta Jones Demi Lovato, Demi Lovato commended fellow actress Catherine Zeta-Jone’s “brave” decision to receive treatment for a mental disorder this week. According to PEOPLE, Lovato took to Twitter on Thursday to show support for Zeta-Jones.
“I don’t know Catherine Zeta-Jones personally but what she has decided to do it SO brave,” Lovato tweeted. “And SO difficult but worth it… I’m proud of her.”
A rep for Zeta-Jones released a statement on Wednesday on behalf of her client. “After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II Disorder.”
Zeta-Jone’s husband, Michael Douglas, was diagnosed with Stage 4 throat cancer last year, and is currently in remission after receiving treatment. Adding to her stress, her stepson, Cameron Douglas, was sentenced to five years in prison for drug-related charges just months before Douglas’ cancer diagnosis.
