Kevin Federline Trashed Mansion - They say the truth is often stranger than fiction.
And Kevin Federline has come up with an excuse bordering on surreal for why a mansion he rented in Los Angeles was badly damaged - flying golf balls.
Britney Spears' ex-husband is being sued by his former landlord Joseph Malek for more than $110k in damages to a mansion he rented back in 2008.
According to TMZ, Mr Malek is claiming Kevin trashed the place and then failed to pay for the damages and some of the rent owed.
However, according to legal documents the failed rapper is claiming the allegations are false, arguing 'damages to the home were actually due to normal wear and tear, and other damages were caused by golf balls hitting the property.'
He is also claiming he struck an oral agreement with the landlord in 2009 in which he handed over $60,000 to cover missing back-rent and also agreed to let his former landlord keep his entire security deposit.
In the documents he states the 2009 deal 'acts as full satisfaction and discharge of these disputes.'
Kevin is seeking recovery of his attorney fees, statutory damages and twice the amount of his security deposit.
Both parties are awaiting a judge to rule on the case.
