Kutcher apologizes for Paterno comments

Kutcher apologizes for Paterno comments, Ashton Kutcher says he fumbled tweet after Joe Paterno fired. Following Joe Paterno's inglorious dismissal as Penn State football coach, Ashton Kutcher went to Twitter to express his discontent.

Wednesday evening he tweeted: "How do you fire Jo Pa?"

Shortly thereafter, he deleted his update, which was retweeted by hundreds of his over 8 million followers. Kutcher claimed he thought Paterno was fired over a "football thing" and didn't realize that the coach was terminated after failing to tell the police that an assistant coach had allegedly assaulted a young boy in a school shower in 2002.

After realizing his mistake, Kutcher retweeted some of the harsh comments he was receiving and responded in an apologetic manner.

One person Tweeted: "Who is more ignorant? @Aplusk, or the over EIGHT MILLION idiots who follow him?"

Kutcher's response: "honestly it's me."

Another person Tweeted: "with 8 million followers, you MAY want to reserve your opinions until you know the whole story."

Kutcher tweeted: "agreed."

All the comments have since been deleted. Late Wednesday night he tweeted: "As an advocate in the fight against child sexual exploitation, I could not be more remorseful for all involved in the Penn St. case. ashton kutcher joe paterno, +joe paterno biography, Ashton Kutcher Joe Paterno firing "in poor taste" penn state scandal, Ashton Kutcher Twitter

"As of immediately I will stop tweeting until I find a way to properly manage this feed. I feel awful about this error. Won't happen again."
