And no his fans will love seeing him hamming it up again as he revisits the well with Mission Impossible - Ghost Protocol, the fourth entry in the money-spinning series.

Tom, 49, certainly looked in good spirits as he stood in the grounds of the historic mausoleum.

He wore a relaxed ensemble of green trousers and casual blue shirt, and he even revisited his Top Gun days by donning a pair of aviator sunglasses.

Tom said he was 'very excited' to be in the country for a fan screening the thriller ahead of its world premiere on Wednesday.

He added: 'I wanted to come to India my whole life, so I am very excited.'

The Legend star even took the time to pose with one of his co-stars from the flick Anil Kapoor, who plays a villainous Indian tycoon in the picture.

However this may be one occasion where he was not the main attraction, as the Indian is one of the biggest stars in Bollywood.

No doubt visiting India jogged a few memories for Tom, as some of his espionage flick was filmed there.

The film follows the latest improbable adventure of superspy Ethan Hunt, and his ever handy face-changing device.

A terrorist bombing destroys the Kremlin while he is carrying out an undercover operation in Moscow, which leads to all sorts of James Bond-esque high-jinks.

The Russian government believes the attack is 'an undeclared act of war,' while the United States government shuts down the Impossible Mission Force.

However in an A-Team style twist, Hunt and his four-man team escape from the government's custody and try to catch the perpetrators.

It is unclear at this stage whether they are sent to prison by a military court for a crime they didn't commit, or escape from a maximum security stockade to the Los Angeles underground.
