Family, Friends And Stunt Double Attend Anne Hathaway Wedding, Ultimate on-screen princess Anne Hathaway finally got her fairy-tale ending when she married actor-jewelry designer Adam Shulman Saturday night.
And she looked every bit the royal.
“The wedding was lovely and Anne looked gorgeous,” a source tells PEOPLE of the bride, 29, who stunned in a custom Valentino gown. “She looked very pretty.”
Like the wedding’s backdrop, the natural, scenic Big Sur on the California coast, Hathaway’s look seemed otherwise understated. The Dark Knight Rises star kept her cropped pixie cut from Les Misérables for the big day, forgoing any hair extensions. She wore no jewelry, says the source. To accessorize, she donned a 1920s-inspired headband attached to a simple veil.
Also low-key: the guest list.
“It was just friends and family,” adds the source. “No movie stars. There were only a few people in the business there, like her stunt double.”
Still, the reception featured plenty of personal touches, including a menu of local and sustainable food similar to the fare at their N.Y.C. engagement party last February, months after Shulman, 30, popped the question in November. The 150-plus guests were treated to tunes from the San Francisco-based jazz trio Americano Social Club.
Event planners Yifat Oren and Stefanie Cove created a fairy-tale weekend for the couple which began Friday with a rehearsal dinner at the Ventana Inn & Spa, where a nearby private estate was secured for the ceremony.
